Schools Training - General Risk Assessment

About the course

This course has been tailor made to help schools focus on their increased level of responsibility for children.

Risk Assessment is a technique for preventing accidents and ill health by helping people to think about what could go wrong and ways to prevent problems. The requirement for an up-to-date risk assessment in the workplace is a legal requirement under The Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999.

Who is the course for?

This course is aimed at teachers, support staff, group leaders, Bursars of schools and anyone else who has a responsibility for health & safety of others in the workplace. As no two departments in a school operate identically, it is necessary for each department to have its own written risk assessment - all staff therefore need to understand how to conduct a risk assessment.

How long does it take?

The course is covered in a half day. It covers all relevant sections but is tailored for schools in particular. All course materials are provided and the course includes tutorials and exercises.

Any other information?

Remember - schools must ensure that a full risk assessment has been conducted to protect not only children and staff, but also visitors and others on the premises.
